Theodore was puzzled at her mention of the third party but soon assumed she was talking about his attendant. The man of course was shadowing Theodore with every careful step that the boy took. Theodore sighed slightly, knowing that he had forgotten about the attendant again. It was so normal for Theodore to have someone being his guide.

“Forgive me, he will only be watching. Hopefully from afar.” Theodore paused to turn to his attendant and asked him very politely to keep at the table.

“I have been so used to them being around me. Will you be my eyes for the dance then?” He said gently. It was common for people to know the youngest prince was blind. Why the hand maids and attendants were always at his feet making sure he did not slip. He feared it was embarrassing him.

"Kiddo, that'll be no problem. Before I was banished, someone I love very much asked me to be his eyes, once. I've never tried it with dancing, but I think we can stumble along togethor." She paused before leading her new partner out.

It was a blessedly slow waltz. She helped him with his hands, and then adjusted hers, before leading him through the steps, first at half speed, then adjusting to normal. He was incredibly graceful, elegant and poised. "Don't worry," Amaya eventually breathed as they both relaxed. "You're doing well."

The beats of the music wound around the pair, until finally the piece wound down to a soft and heart-wrenching chord progression. "Beautiful piece, isn't it? I heard it once, back in Faerie. They say that it's the most elegant piece ever composed." She didn't remove her hands from his waist. "Will you concede to be my partner for the evening?" She asked almost suddenly. "I think I like you a lot, munchkin, and I think I could learn a lot from you. Of course, you can also call me crazy. So what's your call?"

He felt the embarrassed heat in his cheeks again during the entire dance. All the while he felt silly and so very small out of the dance floor. Lessons had been established by his mother when he was a little younger but it still never helped the fact that he felt so clumsily when trying to do things like this.

Everything felt like a warm whirl of black. Music was tingling his ears as the heat from the excitement and the other people made him feel a little dizzy. Theodore was not used to such things and his siblings would have pulled him out of this long ago, wouldn’t they?

When the song slowed Theodore took a slow breath in and tried to calm him head. Perhaps he just wasn’t built for this sort of thing. Everything was making him feel weak. But her words a little nicknames kept making him smile that boyish smile of his. “The music really is moving.” He muttered, lifting his head to the sound, “Like it feels what we are feeling.”

At her last questions he wasn’t sure how to answer completely. “Of course.” He said gently, smiling, “I just pray I can hold out with all of this. Whew.”

Amaya leaned forward, and placed a cool hands on his cheeks. "Hey," she said softly. "Teddy, are you okay?" Supporting him, she gently led him off the dance floor. Hoping that he could sense the smile in her voice, she quietly reassured him, "You really did well out there, even if you probably don't do it too often."

The great lummox joined them again, looking concerned that his charge seemed a little sick. Amaya waved him away, leading Teddy to an empty chair and pressing a cup of mint water into his hand. "Breathe, and then we'll try to dance some more, okay?" Amaya wasn't sure why she was pressing this kid so hard, but it had something to do with the kindness and bravery that shone from his face.

"You really are something," Amaya muttered, almost to low to hear. She recalled his earlier comment, and placed a hand against his forehead. "And I think that's a core idea of music. To express what you can't with words. It's a nice idea isn't it? Love, loss, sweetness and anger...all tangled up with a side helping of induviduality that can't be replaced. It's why I love playing piano so often."

Seized by the moment once more, Amaya began to speak almost before she knew what she wanted to say. "Maybe if I do come to visit, I can help you play piano. I'm sure that your family would appreciate it, especially your sister." Amaya let a warm smile seep into her voice once more. "Again, it's up to you. But because piano is about hearing, not seeing...maybe you'll enjoy it." Anxiety replaced the warmth. "I mean, I hope you don't think that I'm presumtuous or anything, I mean I've just met you and I'm- You know what? I think I'm just going to stop talking and let you speak."

“Sorry, I am not that inclined to so much excitement.”

Theodore blushed again as he became lost for words. So many times he wondered how to classify music and what it all meant. “Music is sometimes the only way I can see the world.” He said gently. The little prince felt embarrassed saying such a thing. It was usually something he kept for speaking with Floretta only.

When his attendant commented on him leaving the party shortly he raised his hand in a dismissive gesture. Although weak Theodore had yet to pay his respects to the party hostess and to greet his mother. He was enjoying his time with Lady Amaya.

He sipped at his water before handing it to his attendant. Gently he reached out for her hand and clasped it in both of his. “It would be very special to me if you helped me learn piano, Lady Amaya. I’m in your debt for your kindness.”

Albeit so young, Theodore sometimes spoke like a wise adult. “I like hearing you speak, nicknames and all. I can tell you are a very strong woman.”

Amaya felt a strong blush rise in her cheeks. This time she gave into the urge to hug him. "You really are sweet," she whispered into his ears. Pulling back, she adjusted his costume's ears. "But one thing. You're not in my debt, kiddo. You don't ever have to worry about that. Friends do things for eachother because they care to much to do otherwise. Oh, and thank you very much for the compliment." She chuckled. "I like to think that I've learned a thing or two in all my years. Of course, I think we all sometimes feel like we've learned nothing at all, ne? I think that's one of the reasons that music is so amazing. You sit back and listen, and it's just incredible that something human, or elvish, or fae ever created it, when it seems like it should have been from the Gods."

She paused. "If you take strength from music Teddy, I don't think it will be possible for you to ever feel down."
